BLACKkKLANSMAN is one of the most anticipated movies of the summer
Last week, Spike Leedebuted his latest joint, BLACKkKLANSMAN, at the 2018 Cannes Film Festival. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the movie drew a 10-minute standing ovation. On Monday, the first trailer from the movie was released.

Based on a true story, BLACKkKLANSMAN is about two cops who try to infiltrate the Ku Klux Klan. Making things interesting, one of the cops, Ron Stallworth, played by John David Washington, is black. (Hence the title.) In the trailer, we see that the movie will have this lighthearted, buddy cup tone to it (despite the heavy topic).

Adapted from the 2014 book Black Klansman, the movie was written and directed by Spike Lee. It was also produced by Jordan Peele‘s Monkeypaw Productions, QC Entertainment, and Blumhouse. Check out the trailer for the film, which comes out on August 10, 2018, below.
