Batida band alum Alexandre Francisco Diaphra recently debuted the short film Diaphra's Blackbook of the Beats - the visual accompaniment to his album of the same name. Celebrating the July 6th release of the project, the Lisbon-based, Bissau-Guinean artist dropped the 30-minute clip scored by the tracks included on the solo LP. "The full-length release is based on improvised beats and eclectic samples, featuring live instrumentation played by invited artists and Diaphra’s own spoken and rapped poetry." The footage chronicles Diaphra's travels and the creative process behind each track he created along the way.
