OKP Premiere: Big Freedia Gets It Bouncing On Her New Single "Crazy"

Lenny Kravitz, Grace Jones, Lauryn Hill, Lion Babe, Thundercat, SZA & More Rock The Afropunk Festival 2015 in Brooklyn, NY.

Grab a new wig and your best set of heels, because the one and only Ms. Big Freedia has returned to the airwaves. After lighting up clubs, street corners and blogs like this one with her 2014 album Just Be Free, the incomparable Freedia is back with her brand new single "Crazy." The track serves as both a gift to music fans who have been waiting for her next big move, and a sonic preview of what's to come when season 4 of the hit show Big Freedia: Queen of Bounce debuts on FUSE TV September 30th.

First and foremost, the joint claps. Freedia plays to her New Orleans bounce strengths on "Crazy" with ankle-breaking bass and a rat-a-tat handclap track that is sure to bring you up out of your chair, out to the dancefloor and perhaps even up on the nearest wall. Synth daggers slice in every direction and it all climaxes with the chant "They might gotta lock me up!" Freedia calls it out over and over at "Crazy"'s close, self-aware that this song can cause mass booty-bounce destruction.

Currently touring the nation on her 2015 Bounce Shakedown Tour, Freedia will be bringing "Crazy" to a venue near you sometime soon (dates below). Okayplayer is very pleased to present it's world premiere, along with word that it'll be available for purchase on September 18th, but you can already pre-order your freaky, freaky self a copy of it over on iTunes. Listen to the world premiere below and be prepared--it's just the right amount of wrong.
