Black Thought's GrassROOTS Foundation Presents The ROOTS, ROCK, RUN 5K In Philly
Black Thought's Grass Roots Community Foundation presents the first annual ROOTS, ROCK, RUN 5K run/walk ahead of the 6th Annual Roots Picnic in Philadelphia on June 1st. The race will serve as the springboard for the official launch of the foundation's Daddy's Little Girl campaign, which encourages fathers and daughters to commit to one health activity for one hour a day, one day a week. The father-daughter health challenge will launch on Father's Day, June 16th. Registration for the health challenge begins on race day and continues until June 14th. Proceeds from the ROOTS, ROCK, RUN 5K will support the CHICKS health and wellness program at the Harding Middle School in Philadelphia. The race kicks off at the school on Saturday, June 1st at 9:00 AM. Organizers suggest a $10 donation from attendees, but the event is free and open to the public.
