OKP Premiere: David Morin Struts Supreme In A Playful Clip For "Come Home"

David Morin - "Coming Home" [Official Video]

David Morin may not be a name on your radar as of yet, but the buzzing Vancouver native has been putting himself and his city on the map with a brilliant blend of Motown melodics and loop-heavy hip-hop elements. Today, the north-of-the-border do-it-all has graced us with the video for his new single "Come Home;" a smooth and simply sweet concoction, rooted in golden-age r&b, garnished with jazzy six-string flutters and tied together, beautifully, by Morin's silky croon and penchant for big drum shuffles. The clip is a playful one, with shifting backdrops and tight choreography, perfectly capturing the lighthearted and soulful vibes of the cut. Listen, Vancouver's rap-sheet in the soul music department isn't exactly mile-long. In fact, I challenge you to name a single act to bust out of the Northwestern haven for coffee and herb houses. But with Morin, there may just be hope for a new sound and aesthetic to break the grungy, indie fold.
