Drake Announces New Project "More Life" For December Release
Drake Announces New Project "More Life" For December Release

Drake's "More Life" Release Has Been Pushed Back To 2017

American Music Awards: Drake, Rihanna + Prince Honored As Night's Big Winners

Drake planned to release one more project to close out 2016, but his fans will have to wait a while longer for More Life.

Miss Info and 2DopeBoyz report that on Saturday's episode of Drake's OVO Sound Radio show on Beats 1, producer/collaborator Oliver El-Khatib revealed that Drake's upcoming project More Life has been pushed back to early 2017. El-Khatib said Drake has been working around the clock to complete the record, which he announced in October.

“I’m off like mixtapes, I want to do a playlist. I want to give you a collection of songs that become the soundtrack to your life, so this More Life: The Playlist," Drake said at the time. "All original music from me. You might hear some tunes from the family on there. Just really excited. I had a great tour, I had a great summer. And most people would like go probably take a break, but for me I just want to get right back to it. Be with the people again."

More Life may be pushed back, but Drake fans still have three songs from the project to enjoy in the meantime: "Sneakin" featuring 21 Savage, "Fake Love," and the controversial "Two Birds, One Stone."

The project would have been an exclamation mark to end a historic year for Drake. His album Views was critically panned, but it's done some of his best numbers yet: it remained at number one on the Billboard 200 for 13 weeks this year, and the single "One Dance" was his first Billboard Hot 100 chart topper as the lead artist. It was certified as 4x platinum at the beginning of the month.

He was also nominated for multiple Grammys in last week's announcement. Views is up for Album of the Year and Best Rap Album, "Hotline Bling" is nominated for Best Rap Song and Best Rap/Sung Performance, and "Pop Style" is up for Best Rap Performance.
