Stones Throw Set To Release Egyptian Lover Anthology As Vinyl Box-Set
Late last year, funkateers far and wide were treated to a reissue of Egyptian Lover's breakout single, "Egypt, Egypt." Today, Stones Throw, gatekeepers to all of the interplanetary frequencies, revealed plans for a massive one-up, announcing that they'll release a vinyl anthology treatment of 22 cuts from Egyptian Lover's storied catalogue aptly-titled, Egyptian Lover 1983-1988.
The 4xLP box-set release will don a crisp gold and black gatefold, featuring a 20 page booklet of compiled photos, track histories and liner notes provided by Jeff Weiss. With the collection's release slated for April 15th, this one should be top priority for your Record Store Day crate-digging excursions. And seeing as how its release comes a full day before the official holiday, you should have the opportunity to get the jump before the bum-rush commences.
