Toronto-based Collective Grand Analog Premieres Their New Single "Howl" (Like Wolves) Ahead Of Their Forthcoming 'Modern Thunder' LP Dropping April 22nd On Jillionaire's Feel Up Records
Grand Analog returns with the premiere of their new single "Howl" (Like Wolves) ahead of the release of their forthcoming Modern Thunder LP, out April 22nd on Jillionaire's Feel Up Records. The Toronto-based collective's upcoming project follows their critically-acclaimed Metropolis Is Burning LP, which dropped in 2009. GA's Odario Williams explains the difference in their approach on this project:
“With the first two albums we sampled a lot of my dad’s dub reggae albums so we wanted to switch it up and found some rare groove we wanted to emulate.”
Taking a back seat, Odario let the band do the heavy lifting and waited for the tunes they were crafting to influence the direction of his lyrics. The result is an upbeat collection of tracks that packs a modern punch as well as some old school party rocking vibes that pay homage to the heavy sounds of hip-hop, soul and dub. The project features appearances from some Canada's most respected talents including Saukrates, MC Shad and Amanda Balsys.
