J. Cole Pays Homage To Puppy Love In The New "Wet Dreamz" Video

Lenny Kravitz, Grace Jones, Lauryn Hill, Lion Babe, Thundercat, SZA & More Rock The Afropunk Festival 2015 in Brooklyn, NY.

When J. Cole dropped his brilliant 2014 Forest Hills Drive LP last year, one track that immediately caught our attention was "Wet Dreamz," a strikingly vulnerable rap ballad about performance anxiety with a brilliant plot twist. Today, Mr. Cole has shared the official video for the track, which features two young dogs acting out almost everything you hear on his rapped verses. And before you get worried, relax; there's no explicit doggy-style scene. This is innocent puppy love.

The clip was directed by Ryan Staake and tells the story of two dogs who meet in obedience school and quickly fall for each other. We're treated to scenes of longing doggy stares that are only a little bit awkward, and a shot of one pup watching elephants getting it on (which is absolutely in every way awkward). Fans of the song will know what's in store as the video progresses towards its final plot twist, but just as the tension eases we're given one final surprising shot. Perhaps the pups weren't the only ones falling for one another. With its light-hearted nature and the track's easy-going beat (produced by J. Cole himself), the "Wet Dreamz" clip seems like an early invitation to kick back, lighten up, and enjoy a summery, carefree afternoon. Then again, this is a video about two dogs getting ready to bone--so we're going to let you be the final judge. Watch the brand new clip below.
