Watch Kanye West & Vic Mensa Crash Chance The Rapper's 'Open Mike' In Chicago
Kanye West made a real trip out of his recent visit to Chicago. On top of grabbing doctoral honors from The School of The Arts Institute Of Chicago (and delivering a lecture for Chi-town's aspiring art school underlings) Yeezy made his presence felt on stage with protege Vic Mensa at his side, crashing Chance The Rapper's hometown get-down 'Open Mike' event last night. The duo performed their collaborative heater "U Mad," Ye's turn-up anthem "All Day" and crowd-favorite "We Don't Care" (just for a second) for a packed house of high school students who are likely still putting themselves together after all the madness.
Though unprompted, the performance comes as a welcome teaser of what's to come from the duo, both of which are creeping towards new albums; Vic with his Def Jam debut and Ye' with the album formerly known as So Help Me God, now apparently going under the name SWISH. There's really no way for us to know when either will drop, but you can be sure we'll have the scoop for you when details begin to roll out.
