Little Dragon is back in the form of this rework with (Belly's Chill Trap Remix) of their sublime "Scale It Back." A new take on the original DJ Shadow production that has been heavily remixed since it's release on his 2011 album The Less You Know, The Better. This one by Belly's Beats, is highlighted by that ticking snare characteristic of the trap - a deviation from the original take with its walking drum and dense piano chords. "Scale It Back" features the incomparable Yukimi Nagano echoing through a hauntingly expansive and carefully paced performance. What you hear from Nagano in the span of this track is exactly the kind of striking performance that got the world's attention with the release of "Twice" - the single that lead to the Band's self-titled 2007 debut. Little Dragon continues to prove their chameleon-like powers - operating with an eclectic ear and the ability to adapt to any sonic circumstance - in performances that continually leave them standing a cut above the rest as habitual bar raisers. This time they just happen to be doing it for the dope boys.
