Low Leaf
Back from Texas, and off of that hiatus, time to get back at it with some gems that dropped while I was gone. Let’s start things off with the song I’ve been playing nonstop since about 10AM. Following up on their label launching re-release of Mndsgn’s Breatharian LP, Fresh Selects recently announced their next project. Release #3 will be coming from L.A. based, multi-talent, Low Leaf, with her album, AKASHAALAY. Multi-talent is a nice way of summing it up, but to put you up on her full skill set, Low Leaf is a singer/songwriter/producer, classically trained pianist, and self-taught harpist with a refreshingly cross genre sound. With heritage in the Philippines, Low Leaf’s album is dedicated to the islands’ "people, its’ bloody history, and its’ bright future.” But before we get into album cuts, we get this loosie, “A Light Within,” that pairs LL with Philly legend, King Britt, a free download 'til the LP drops (King Britt on production, Low on vocals and harp).
