Fresh projects from Ty Farris, Scheme Team, Tobi Lou, DJ Skizz and more make the cut this Mixtape Monday.
First out the gate with the wonder drug, Ty Farris drops No Cosign Just Cocaine 2. Mutant Academy offshoot Scheme Team puts up points with Big Bluntz DVD. Newcomer Tobi Lou has the juice and DJ Skizz is High Powered. NEF the Pharaoh is also back with The Big Chang Theory.
Rap Club Exordium representative and South Carolina native Kill Bill’s 2014 Ramona tape gets a bump, Culture Power45 is back on deck with the fifth installment of Automatic Gain Control and Paten Locke remixes The Perceptionists on Low Resolution. Closing things out, Hann_11 digs the Power of Commitment, and Sup Nasa gives the gift of Kula.

Mutant Academy by any other name is just as nice. Enter the Scheme Team aka Big Kahuna OG and Fly Anakin fresh off of their collaborative tape entitled Life & Times of BigFly. The pair are joined by Graymatter, Sauce Heist, Monday Night, ANKHLEJOHN and more.
Tobi Lou - tobi lou and the Juice
Tobi Lou drops the third in a trilogy of EP’s with tobi lou and the Juice. The seven-track project is the last to arrive ahead of his highly-anticipated forthcoming debut album Cult Classic.
NEF The Pharaoh - The Big Chang Theory
Vallejo native and standout spitter NEF The Pharaoh returns with his sophomore effort entitled The Big Chang Theory. Chock full of the requisite left coast bounce, the follow-up to The Chang Project and his recent 03 Greedo collaborative the Porter 2 Grape EP is a strong showing.

Covering everything from hip-hop to techno and house, Culture Power45 is back with their latest compilation entitled Automatic Gain Control 5. The eight-track release features contributions from The Degabah System, Mr. Skurge, Blocks Off Cottagegrove, Empee and more.
The Perceptionists x Paten Locke - Low Resolution
Producer Paten Locke remixes The Perceptionists’ 2017 Resolution album with the arrival of Low Resolution.
The Perceptionists returned last year with their first new group album in years. The official release led to a tour and even an appearance on NPR's "Tiny Desk Concert" with a live band. But for 2018, they wanted to rough the edges up and revisit it. Enter Paten Locke. Paten had produced a pair of tracks on the original record that were fan favorites, so he seemed like a natural choice to rework 7 of the albums best tracks. On top of that, Paten, Mr. Lif and Akrobatik created an entirely fresh joint titled "Bait." The result is "Low Resolution" an 8 track long record that brings "Resolution" into a completely different light.

Lo-fi beatsmith Hann_11 takes a nine-track mystic voyage on the gritty and utterly soulful P.O.C. Vol. 1 tape. The instrumental project from the Philly native is a solid first step that bodes well for the Power of Commitment series.

Just months removed from J Dilla Ruined My Life, Italian producer Sup Nasa follows with the ambient five-track tape entitled Kula.
Most of the time, when we travel, we know where we are going, we know what we are about to face. We already know it all. This knowledge lacks of pure experience. My journey is a travel to the unknown, where I seek to consolidate a mutual relationship with you, the listener, based on faith. Kula is a ceremony that takes place in the Triobriand Island. Men travel thousand of miles to reach other tribes, and to gift them with necklace or ring. This exchange ritual is needed to build relationships among tribes, based on mutual respect and faith. My gift to you is my music, and I don't know if the travel will be successful or not. I don't know where I'm going, I don't know what I'm about to face. I don't know anything. This is my pure experience. I hope it happens to be yours too.
