OKP Premiere: OHYUNG Drops Introspective Lines On The NYC Ode "YOYOYO"
BK emcee OHYUNG has gone by many names through the years, but what ties each of those personas together is a poignant and insanely clever delivery that employs sharp wit to both poke fun at and deconstruct racial stereotypes. Today, we have the pleasure of bringing his latest single to the world in the OKP premiere of "YOYOYO"; an airy ode to his hometown and the many ridiculous characters, circumstances and profiles that occupy it, featuring verses from Saeid Edward & boyRD. It's a cut that's so incredibly New York that it even charts that all-too-familiar and simultaneously hopeless pursuit of the city's best soup dumpling, right down to the inevitable dissatisfaction and self-doubting that immediately takes over once you've trekked up to Flushing and managed to somehow leave unenlightened. Will we ever find NYC's consummate momo? Or are we doomed to a perpetual cycle of pursuit? Suppose you'll have to check back for the next episode to find out. OHYUNG's self-titled debut EP has no firm date on it just yet, but we hear it could drop out of the thin blue any day now. Rock with his inaugural cut "YOYOYO" below.
