A year ago, the world gained another brilliant beatsman in Ol' Burger Beats, who dropped a seismic introduction in his debut album High Rhodes. There we found a compendium of dusty funk & soul chops, strung together by slightly-swung, wholly-tight snares and crisp kicks that hark back to the drunken drum clinics of J Dilla and Pete Rock. Since then, we've heard him link with some of the stateside greats for "20 Years" (Illa J) and a remix of Soul Theory's "3D Cypher" (Frank Nitt & Marv Won.)
