The Brilliance Of Pimp C Is Alive & Well On "Friends" ft. Nas & Juicy J
Posthumous hip-hop releases have always been a tricky thing, but thankfully all is right with the remaining catalog of legendary southern rhyme stylist Pimp C. With support from his widow Ms. Chinara Butler, the release of the brand new Long Live The Pimp LP is now only two weeks away, and fans on Thursday got a chance to preview a bit more of what awaits inside. It comes in the form of the brand new track, "Friends," which features none other than Nas and Juicy J lining up beside Pimp C, spilling vocabularies over a beat produced by Juicy himself.
The track is the follow-up to Lil Wayne-propelled "3 Way Freak," which dropped earlier this month and alerted fans everywhere to just how impressive of a record we should expect out of Long Live...
"Friends" premiered earlier today on Sway in the Morning and damn if it isn't a classic kind of joint. Deep booming bass and rattling southern-comfort hi hats define the production, which also sports enough hammond organs to have you thinking that church is in session.
Long Live The Pimp will drop on December 4th via Mass Appeal Records and can already be preordered on iTunes. It features the talents of Bun B, Nas, T.I., Juicy J, A$AP Rocky, Slim Thug, Ty Dolla $ign, David Banner, Devin the Dude, Lil Keke, ESG, Pimpin Ken, 8Ball & MJ. Listen to "Friends" below.
