Prince 4 Ever: Career-Spanning Greatest-Hits + Deluxe 'Purple Rain' LPs Officially Announced

For weeks if not months now, rumor mill murmurs have insisted that new releases are en route from the Prince estate. Today they are confirmed with the announcement of an official career-spanning 40-song greatest-hits album titled Prince 4 Ever, comprised of material recorded between 1977 and 1996. It is slated for release on November 22nd via Warner Bros and NPG Records with a 12-page booklet containing unreleased photos by photographer Herb Ritts

What's more, however, that deluxe edition of Purple Rain seems to have gotten the stamp of officialness as well, as the estate now plans to release the remastered classic in early 2017 with a second album of previously unreleased material, but the details are still skim on that one. In any case, it appears there's plenty of purple stuff on the way to feed the black hole left in the wake of Planet Prince.
