For the last few years, YC The Cynic has easily been one of the more promising young emcees NY has to offer. The bars will continue to come, but it looks like this is the last new song he’ll be releasing under that moniker (read his explanation at the bottom). YC sends the name off right, as he teams with Mr. MFN eXquire for this fire new track “Pretty Bodies.” Listen to the two NY wordsmiths put on a lyrical display over Steel Tipped Dove’s production, below. Look for YC to drop his next project, The Farewell Tape, next week. The tape is be a compilation of unreleased YC music and some of his favorite joints with features from King Mez, Homeboy Sandman, Mick Jenkins, Big Pooh, and more. For now, get one last dose of YC, before the next chapter begins with Kemba.

I was 12 years old when I got the name YC. I grew up with it, made mistakes, and starting making a name as a teenager. The further I got into adulthood, the more I felt suffocated by it. This change will allow me to be the artist I'm becoming, unapologetically. I've learned a lot about the industry since the release of my last album. Thanks for showing me love throughout the first chapter of my career. Hopefully you continue to rock with me. " - Kemba (formerly known as YC The Cynic)
