10 New Hip-Hop & R&B Albums You Should Be Listening To (Week of July 8th)
Burna Boy's long-awaited sixth studio album Love, Damini and FLO's debut EP The Lead are among some of the hottest albums this week.
Some of our favorites acts in hip-hop and R&B have returned with week, while other artists are just beginning. After making history as the first Nigerian artist to sell out Madison Square Garden, Burna Boy is back on the map with his sixth album Love, Damini. The 'African Giant' will embark on his summer tour with stops in Detroit, Chicago, Boston and more this month.
Also arriving this week is Brent Faiyaz with his long-awaited WASTELAND, where the R&B crooner takes a dark turn with features from Tyler, the Creator, Alicia Keys, Jorja Smith, and more.
Westside Gunn shines on new project Peace "Fly" God, the precursor to his forthcoming album Michelle Records which will be released later this year. Inspired by Paris Fashion Week, the Buffalo-bred emcee recorded Peace "Fly" God in a 48-hour marathon session.
New to the R&B is London trio FLO, who delivers their first EP "The Lead." Comprised of vocalists Stella Quaresma, Jorja Douglas and Renée Downer, the EP boasts girl power and feel-good summertime anthems.
Additional drops this week include Chris Brown's Breezy (Deluxe), Vanity Rose's Pretty Girls Get Lonely, Apollo Brown's This Must Be the Place, Kota the Friend's MEMO and Ken Carson's X, executive-produced by Playboi Carti.
