The '2017 Hip-Hop Honors' Will Pay Respect to Legendary Comedian Martin Lawrence
Last year, VH1's Hip-Hop Honors paid respect to Missy Elliott, Lil Kim,Salt-N-Pepa and all of the women in hip-hop who paved the way.
This year's show will honor an era that we all know and love: the '90s. VH1's Hip-Hop Honors: The 90's Game Changers will pay respect to music, films, and television shows from that era.

One '90s star, in particular, is going to get a lot of love. This year's Hip-Hop Honors will pay respect to legendary comedian Martin Lawrence. During the '90s, Lawrence was one of the most important figures in pop culture: He was the driving force behind the influential television show Martin and starred in hit movies like Bad Boys, Nothing to Lose, and Blue Streak.

Lawrence gave a statement about the honors, saying:
"Anytime anyone wants to recognize you for your work, it's an honor. I am looking forward to a really great night of fun and music."
VH1's Hip-Hop Honors: The 90's Game Changers goes down on September 18th at 9 p.m. EST on VH1.
