Rihanna, Zendaya, Donald Glover & More Score Golden Globes 2023 Nominations
One month before its telecast ceremony, the 2023 Golden Globes have announced their nominees, including Rihanna, Zendaya and more.
The nominees for the 2023 Golden Globes have been announced. On Monday (December 12), a full slate of film and television nominees were revealed by Mayan Lopez and Selenis Leyva of NBC sitcom Lopez vs. Lopez.
Among them was Black Panther: Wakanda Forever's Angela Bassett, who received a nod in the Best Supporting Actress - Motion Picture Category. The Golden Globes nomination marks Bassett's second, as her portrayal of Tina Turner in What's Love Got to Do With It won the Golden Globe for Best Actress in 1994.
Rihanna received her first-ever Golden Globe nomination in the Best Original Song - Motion Picture category for "Lift Me Up," the lead soundtrack single from Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.
Zendaya received her first Golden Globes nomination (Best Television Actress - Drama Series) for her portrayal of Rue Bennett in HBO teen drama Euphoria. Also receiving her first nomination is Quinta Brunson in the category Best Television Actress - Musical/Comedy Series. Brunson's ABC sitcom Abbott Elementary received a nomination for Best Musical/Comedy Series, while co-stars Janelle James, Sheryl Lee Ralph, and Tyler Lee Williams were nominated in Best Supporting Actress - Musical/Comedy Series and Best Supporting Actor - Television Series, respectively.
Five years after winning the Golden Globe for Best Television Actor - Musical/Comedy Series, Donald Glover received a third nomination for his portrayal of Earnest Marks in Atlanta, which concluded in November.
The 2023 Golden Globes will take place January 23, with Jerrod Carmichael serving as host. This will be Carmichael's first time doing hosting duties for the awards ceremony.
