20syl Shares The Video For "Copycat" ft. Fashawn
French producer and beatmaker 20syl has returned with a captivating new video for "Copycat," which features the on-screen and on-mic talents of Fashawn. Over a wild garden of synthesizer tones and a simple hip-hop drum loop, 20syl has layered flutes and faint clicks to form a lush and inclusive track, and thus given Fashawn plenty room to work with. Bar after bar after bar, the MC denounces those who lack originality and work by way of copy/pasting, rather than true cultivation.
As the clip plays on, Fashawn's words are slyly spelled out for all of us to see. 20syl and the rapper eventually begin to switch clothes and appearances, all the while sharing the same look of confusion. The cut is called "Copycat," after all. 20syl is celebrating the release of his excellent Motifs II EP, which dropped via On And On Records.
