A Tribe Called Quest Will Reunite This Friday On 'The Tonight Show'
Hip-hop legends A Tribe Called Quest will reunite for one night only on Friday night's broadcast of The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. Yes, despite claims that their performance supporting Kanye West's Yeezus tour would be their "last-ever," it seems the foursome of Q-Tip, Phife Dawg, Ali Shaheed Muhammad and Jarobi White can't give up on such a good thing.
Tribe will be the musical guest on Friday, November 13th, and will be commemorating the 25th anniversary re-release of their iconic debut LP People's Instinctive Travels And The Paths of Rhythm--a package that will include a full remaster of the original record, plus remix tracks from J. Cole, Cee Lo Green and Pharrell. The smart money says that we'll be treated to one of those tracks (or perhaps an extended funky medley? Can a hip-hop blogger dream?), and with The Legendary Roots Crew occupying the same studio, there's positively no telling what will end up going down. You can pre-order the People's Instinctive Travels... anniversary edition on iTunes, and fresh vinyl copies of the original LP are available in the OKP Shop. Listen to Cee Lo's vibrant "Footprints" remix below.
