Forthcoming Biography on Aaliyah's Life Is Set to Arrive in 2021
The book will explore how the iconic artist's career has impacted artists over the years.
A new biography detailing Aaliyah's life has been announced by journalist Kathy Iandoli.
Iandoli took to Twitter to share that the currently untitled biography will be a "portrait of the late hip-hop, R&B and pop star drawing on interviews with her family, friends and mentors" per her publisher. God Save The Queens is Iandoli's most recent book that details women of hip-hop including Roxane Shante, Queen Latifah and Missy Elliott.
Recently, Barry Hankerson, the singer's uncle and former manager shared that the singer's discography would arrive on streaming platforms in January 2020. At the moment, Aaliyah's 1994 debut album Age Ain't Nothing but a Number is her only album available on streaming platforms. Complex reports Hankerson owns the rights to her catalog excluding her debut which was produced by R. Kelly. One in a Million (1996) and Aaliyah (2001) are her two other albums that could potentially hit digital platforms.
The untitled biography is slated to release in August 2021, the 20th anniversary of Aaliyah's passing.
