Adrian Younge Talks Being Sampled On Magna Carta Holy Grail
Adrian Younge spoke to Out Da Box Radio about Jay Z sampling his music for his latest LP Magna Carta Holy Grail during a recent interview. He explains how the music for the sample - Younge's track entitled "Sirens" from the Something About April LP - ended up in Timbaland's hands after a friend from Waxpoetics passed it on. He also details his original intentions for the track, which he hoped would find its way to a big name artist. The "Sirens" sample laid the groundwork for Jay's "Picasso Baby" - the second track on his latest project featuring The Dream; Big Ghost discusses his feelings about the collaboration in his recent review of MCHG. Adrian Younge also touches on his work with Ghostface Killah and William Hart of The Delfonics during the interview.
