Alabama Shakes' Leading Lady Brittany Howard Drops Surprise Solo Debut As "Thunderbitch"
Let's be honest. Alabama Shakes front lady and singer Brittany Howard is a got damn rock star by any measure. She slays guitar licks and has one of the most distinctive (bordering now on iconic) howls the world has seen since the days of Robert Plant or even further to Little Richard. So it should go without much shock and awe to know that the wailing rocker has some solo aspirations to hash out, even with her band already having one of the best records of the year; a true, blue Grammy contender in Sound & Color. It appears Howard has done just that, transforming into full-on rock goddess Thunderbitch and dropping a debut solo record just a few days ago, flying quietly under radars far and wide. But if the album teaser (down below) is any indication of what you can look forward to from the record, it will be everything but quiet. So strap on your leather jackets, paint your lips red and get ready for Thunderbitch. Her new record is out now on iTunes. Let the head-banging begin.
