In the wake of our criminal justice systems total failure to indict either of Michael Brown or Eric Garner's killers, we're in dire need of something to lift our heads and Alicia Keys seems like she's got just the thing. Today she joins released a sobering and thoughtful new ballad in "We Gotta Pray," advocating for a peaceful and proactive response in a piano-driven tune akin to the What's Going On musical protest cannon. So if you're out there making your voice heard at any one of the hundreds of protests taking place across the country today and throughout the week, maybe give this thing a run, or wait until emotions have settled a bit put it on at the crib. Either way, let's prove that we don't need watchers like the boys in blue by making sure we put our best foot forward, no matter how enraged, defeated and deflated you may feel. Listen to Alicia Keys' touching new ballad "We Gotta Pray" below and please, stay safe out there. If you need a more fiery score for the evening's march, be sure to check out De La Soul and Chuck D's protest anthem "The People."
