All-Star Lovers and Friends Festival Revived in Las Vegas for 2022
Originally slated for May of 2020 in Los Angeles, the Lovers and Friends Festival is back on the calendar.
After a series of COVID-related delays, the Lovers and Friends Festival appears to be on the mend.
Announced today in an Instagram post flaunting a new date and hosting city (see below,) the festival is officially back on the calendar for May 14, 2022 in Las Vegas, almost two years to the day from its original date. And the awe-worthy line-up is still intact, despite a venue having yet to be revealed.
According to the flier, more than four dozen artists are slated to appear in both standalone and joint sets. Usher, Ludacris, and Lil Jon will revive the "Yeah" years in a totally unironic way. Ashanti and Ja Rule will be tapping back into their string of early 2000s hits. TLC will be taking the stage with Ciara and Nelly (?), while Brandy and Monica run through their own hits. And Ms. Lauryn Hill is still sitting atop the bill as the festival's headliner. Of course, that barely scratches the surface, as the line-up still reads like an unending '90s and '00s playlist, celebrating a decade of hip-hop and r&b hitmakers.
Pre-orders for tickets go live on August 2nd at 10am PST/1pm EST via the festival's site. The toll on your wallet will vary, however. General admission is being broken up into two tiers. The base level runs for $175, but will increase to $185 and then $195 as the festival date approaches. GA+ starts at $215 and offers access to shaded areas, a dedicated entrance, and air-conditioned bathrooms. There are also two VIP packages and a travel bundle for those arriving from out of the area.
