Amel Larrieux - You Don't See Me [Snippet]
Amel Larrieux teases us once again with a snippet of "You Don't See Me," the third track on her next album Ice Cream Everyday. At 40 seconds, we can't give you the full musical breakdown but we can say with confidence that the snippet released via Blisslife Records is heavily influenced by 90's beats - reminiscent of both Groove Theory and British pop group, Swing Out Sister. It will be interesting to see what kind of sound the album is going to have when we hear it in its entirety, what with Ice Cream Everyday already showing a broad range of influences. For instance, the other recently revealed track from the album - "Afraid" - is a modern take on the neo-soul grooves she's known for ("For Real"; "Get Up" and "Tell Me" to name a few) and the cover art itself is an interpretation of Chaka Khan's What Cha Gonna Do For Me released in 1981. The LP will be her first release since 2007's Lovely Sounds and - based on "You See Me" and "Afraid"- it seems to be well worth the wait (a firm release date has not yet been announced.) Scroll down and listen to "You See Me."
