In July, NxWorries will wrap up their performance schedule with shows in Malaysia, Indonesia, and Japan.
NxWorries’ last full-length release was 2016’s Yes Lawd!, which had a follow-up remix album in 2017. Since then, the duo has dropped separate projects, like .Paak’s Oxnard and Ventura. As one-half of funk and soul duo Silk Sonic with Bruno Mars, .Paak co-released An Evening With Silk Sonic in 2021, also holding a 34-date Las Vegas residency in 2022. Silk Sonic’s “Leave the Door Open” won multiple Grammy Awards last year, including Song of the Year and Record of the Year, and the duo decided not to submit any music for this year’s awards ceremony.
Over the weekend, .Paak returned to his hometown of Oxnard for his latest edition of the .Paak House festival. Held at Ventura County Fairgrounds, performers included .Paak, soul legends Smokey Robinson and The Isley Brothers, along with contemporary R&B acts Mario, Alex Isley, Kenyon Dixon, Zyah Belle and more. Proceeds from the .Paak House festival benefit the Brandon Anderson Foundation, which provides access to the community through “arts, supplemental education and unique experiences to expand the imagination.”
Knxwledge, who keeps it relatively low-key, has continued his extensive beat tape catalog, including his former Meek series.
