The group went through the song "Gigdet" from their forthcoming self-titled debut album. They've already shared a few songs from the album including: “Shibuya” (featuring Syd), “Time” (featuring Kali Uchis and the late Mac Miller), and “Beauty & Essex” (featuring Daniel Caesar and Unknown Mortal Orchestra). The album drops on December 13.
In related news, .Paak recently called out GoldLink for a post he made about Mac Miller.
In the lengthy post, GoldLink talked about his relationship with Mac, which seemed to be complicated. (GoldLink opened for Mac during the GO:OD AM tour in 2015.)
GoldLink began the post by saying, “I’d be lying if I said I was surprised to hear that you died on us. Not because you were necessarily troubled, but because you were special and because of that, you were troubled.”
At one point GoldLink wrote that he and Mac “weren’t always on the best terms” and that he didn’t always have great things to say about” the late rapper. This, according to GoldLink, was due to the fact that he felt Mac copied his 2015 And After That, We Didn’t Talk album for The Divine Feminine, which dropped in 2016. GoldLink mentions how the first single from his album was “Unique,” which featured Anderson .Paak, and how Mac’s Divine Feminine was “Dang!,” which also featured Anderson .Paak.
In an Instagram post that has since been deleted, .Paak responded to GoldLink, calling his post “disrespectful, narcissistic, jealous” and “grossly unnecessary.”
