Gladys Knight Honored Aretha Franklin With a Gospel Tribute at the AMAs
The AMAs honored the Queen of Soul.
The 2018 American Music Awards featured a few highlights last night. Among them was a tribute to the late legend Aretha Franklin.
Living legend, Gladys Knight lead the tribute for the show's closing set with a soulful performance of "Amazing Grace." She was later joined by Ledisi, Mary Mary, Donnie McClurkin, and CeCe Winans for an all-star medley of songs like “Climbing Higher Mountains,” “Mary, Don’t You Weep” and “How I Got Over," honoring the queen of soul's gospel roots.

Knight was a personal friend of Franklin’s and also performed at the musician’s funeral in Detroit.
Throughout her extensive career, Franklin has won six American Music Awards.
She died in August at the age of 76.
