At Least Ten Injured During French Montana Video Shoot In Miami
Ten people were reportedly injured during a French Montana video shoot on Thursday night at DJ Khaled eatery The Licking in Miami Gardens.
At least ten people were reportedly injured in a shooting during a French Montana music video was filming in Miami Gardens, on Thursday night (January 5). The shooting may have included Montana, legal name Karim Kharbouch, and rapper Rob49, as the two were filming a music video at DJ Khaled's eatery The Licking in Miami Gardens.
Miami Gardens police responded to the shooting outside of The Licking restaurant just before 8 PM, where they found multiple victims, per WSVN. Although police have not confirmed the number of people injured, sources told the Miami station it was more than ten. Paramedics and Miami-Dade Fire Rescue arrived to the scene, transporting four victims to area hospitals, while one is said to be in critical condition. Other victims reportedly transported themselves to the hospital.
"Our hearts are heavy and go out to the victims of this senseless act,” The Licking said in a statement, per CNN. “We were not aware of a video being filmed and found out last min(ute) French Montana was shooting a scene in the back parking lot. We have no idea what actually took place,” the statement continued. “The Licking restaurant has nothing to do with the incident and has given police the necessary footage requested.”
One witness told WFOR-TV that they heard ten to fifteen gunshots before seeing people run. Another witness, Ced Mogul, said a person in the crowd was robbed of their watch and wallet, causing the situation to escalate.
"It was like at least 13, 14, 15 gunshots. It was very rapid, it sounded like an assault rifle," Mogul said. "I took off running, and I was looking back, but I was like, ‘You know what? Let me just duck first, and then people started asking me, you know, ‘Can you help me?’ When I realized people were asking for help, there was nothing you could do about it when you got shot."
