Audio Premiere: Lucille Ghatti - Bad Manners [EP Stream]
Cali born/NY based singer songwriter, Lucille Ghatti, immediately won us over with the release of her project, High Grade, a year and change ago. Her talent was only confirmed shortly thereafter with her follow ups High Grade 2 and Slow Matter. We were spoiled right out the gate with consistent projects, but since then we've only got singles here and there and no solid date for a new release. That changes today with the OKP premiere of Lucy's new EP, Bad Manners. It's been a long time in the making, but these 6 new tracks prove to be well worth the wait - "Burning Bridges" and "At You (Neck)" being my personal favorites. As far as the meaning of the EP to Lucy, she leans on the words of Stokely Carmichael to describe it : "In order -- In order for America to really live on a basic principle of human relationships, a new society must be born. Racism must die, and the economic exploitation of this country of non-white peoples around the world must also die -- must also die." Real shit - check Bad Manners, below. NYC: Check Lucille Ghatti out live at SOBs on February 5th for the latest edition of RAW, also featuring OKP favorites I/O and TeresaJenee (tickets here).
