Would You Pay $10 Monthly for a Concert Streaming Service?
Bandsintown has announced a premium concert streaming subscription service.
In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, the live concert industry has faced unprecedented challenges. On Tuesday, Bandsintown, an online live concert database, announced Bandsintown PLUS, a first-of-its-kind subscription service created to bring live streaming experiences to the homes of fans.
“For the past year, we’ve been hungry for live shows and for a chance to support the artists we love," said Fabrice Sergent, Bandsintown managing partner. "Bandsintown PLUS is an opportunity to break the barriers of cost and location that have historically hindered live music experiences. Now, with Bandsintown PLUS, live music can be more affordable, more accessible, and more approachable."
For live music fans who may be skeptical about the COVID-19 vaccine, this service offers a convenient option.
Subscribers are entitled to perks like chat sessions with artists and access to footage of concerts highly sought-after on other platforms. For just $9.99 per month, fans get an "All Access Pass" to over 25 live shows per month. The platform promises a "state-of-the-art interactive platform and a roster of cutting-edge performers." Fans can also take comfort in knowing their money will directly benefit the artists they love.
The announcement comes with an inaugural lineup featuring names like Flying Lotus, Toro y Moi, Little Dragon and more. Learn more about the service on Bandsintown.
"Touring artists have been economically ravaged by COVID-19's restrictions," Sergent continued. "Bandsintown PLUS is a chance to help innovate the industry, creating new sources of revenue for artists, while deepening connections with their fans."
Earlier in the year, Bandsintown launched the Twitch channel, Bandsintown LIVE. The channel quickly became a top 10 most-viewed channel in the United States on the platform. Notable names like Tank and the Bangas, Aloe Blacc, Pentatonix and more participated in the channel's live-streams.
Stay tuned on further updates about the platform.
