Benny the Butcher Opens Up About Recent Shooting on "3:30 in Houston"
Benny the Butcher clears the air on his latest single.
Last month, Benny the Butcher was shot in an attempted robbery at a Wal-Mart in Houston, Texas. On Friday, he spoke publicly on wax about the incident in the aptly-named "3:30 in Houston." Stream the new track below.
"3:30 in Houston" also serves as the first single from Griselda's forthcoming debut film, Conflicted. The movie will star Benny, Deuce King, Westside Gun, Michael Rapaport, J. Holiday and more. Watch the Conflicted trailer on YouTube or below. The movie drops via pay-per-view on January 15.
"The film is an urban tale depicting Benny the Butcher as a Buffalo gangster who struggles to do right after being released from prison," the label explained in a statement. "Faced with the dilemmas of his fresh start, Hunter (Benny) declared never to go back to the game that had cost him his freedom. In the process of getting back on track, he falls in love but is soon confronted with the demons of his past, leaving him Conflicted."
The project will come packaged with an original soundtrack, available January 8. The full tracklist is yet to come, but the label promises it will feature the full Griselda roster, as well as major names like Dave East, Lloyd Banks, Flee Lord and Ransom. In addition to production from Daringer and the late DJ Shay, Camouflage Monk, Cee Gee, IceRoxx, Fuse and 808 Mafia will provide beats for the project.
