Best Rap Videos of The Week: Doja Cat, Megan Thee Stallion, Isaiah Rashad & More
Our favorite videos of the week include handpicked selects from Doja Cat, Megan Thee Stallion, Isaiah Rashad and more. Kari Faux's new visual for her single "Outta Sight" is another favorite.
This Friday we’re back at it sharing the best videos that resonated with us all week long. You might find some new artists to rock with, you’ll also leave with some tried and true artists that are probably already on your radar.
To start us off on Friday night Doja Cat unveiled a psychedelic visual for her newest single “Need To Know.” She continues her intergalactic journey in the clip which features her and a crew of alien friends enjoying a night out (we spot Ryan Destiny).
Then there’s Megan Thee Stallion who serves up an NSFW video for “Thot Shit” which dropped at midnight. The interesting visual sees her flip masculinity on its head, in it she taunts a political official by twerking in his office, and at a diner he’s eating at. We’re glad she’s back.
Since we’re always here for the ladies, we can’t forget to mention the newest visual and track from Arkansas-bred artist Kari Faux: “Outta Sight.” The clip is experimental and feels a bit introspective but it gets the job done. Kezia’s “Portland” off of her debut EP claire skews more in the R&B lane and it’s a refreshing track, the accompanying lo-fi video is injected with ‘90s style.
We’ve been waiting for Roy Woods to emerge from his hiatus. The video for “Touch You” features the OVO signee mainly in the studio recording thinking about a beau. Elsewhere, Sevyn Streeter might be beginning her album rollout with the video for “Guilty.” The single is a bop, we honestly like the visual too.
Isaiah Rashad, TDE’s golden child is still unleashing new music, on Thursday evening he gave us “200/Warning.” The video is documentary style and it follows him at a pop-up, features him at home and also in the studio.
Polyester The Saint also rolls out “Cuz It’s Like That” featuring Westside Webb. This track from his album, P-Legit: The Master Peace (out today) is a summer anthem through and through and we’re calling it here first. Another video that caught our attention this week was Marvin Bagley III’s “Late Nights, it’s packed with a vibe that feels like summertime.
