Best Rap Videos of The Week: Wale, Tyler, the Creator, Deetranada & More
Our favorite videos of the week include standouts from Tyler, The Creator, DaBaby, Wale, and more. Deetranada's "222 Bars" is a clip we think stands out amongst the slew of visuals that dropped recently.
This week was another doozy, there was almost way too much music released but to be honest every Friday is like this. We’ve returned to share a few of the best videos of the week that resonated with our team. As usual, we’re covering quite a few acts that are household names/staples, but we’ve also did a bit of digging to note a few indie acts that are worth paying attention to.
First up fresh off of the release of his seventh album is Tyler, the Creator with a visual for “Wusyanmae.” The video has a bit of a surreal feel to it, and it’s also a bit colorful as we would’ve imagined it to be. Next up is DaBaby’s “Red Light Green Light” which is clearly inspired by John Singleton’s cult classic Boyz n the Hood.
Stunna Girl is also serving up a video for her new single “10 Times.” In the clip, she’s delivering fiery bars. Similarly, Deetranada shares “222 Bars” which could point to a looming project on the way. She recently dropped off a new freestyle last week.
Wale and Chris Brown’s “Angles” is honestly getting added to our “best songs of the summer” playlist. For the visual, the two aren’t up to much, they’re really just walking through a lavish home that’s most likely in LA.
Don Toliver taps in with Latto and Lil Durk for a new single “Fast Lane.” The clip features only Toliver and Latto delivering their parts on the track. This track is off the soundtrack for the upcoming F9 movie.
We’re always in the business of sharing some indie staples we’re feeling. This week’s picks include Kevin Holliday’s “Regrets” and Alewya’s “Jagna.” In the former, Holliday shares an alt cut that should be added to your summer cookout playlist. While over on “Jagna,” Alewya, a rising Ethiopian/Egyptian artist/producer rolls out a rock-inspired party anthem.
