Daniel Caesar quietly released a simmering sophomore project and NYC's slow-rap sultan, MIKE, delivered his fourth album in a prolific two-year stretch. And while the list of long-plays is short, the loosies are plentiful, signaling a fruitful second half of 2019. Big K.R.I.T. kept the heat streak going with a sobering and soulful meditation on the pains of addiction. serpentwithfeet resurfaced with a searing, damn-near a capella gospel gem, Ty Dolla $ign in tow. H.E.R. and YBN Cordae and linked up on a luxurious loosie. Jarreau Vandal flipped VanJess and GoldLink's Silk Canvas standout into a funk four-to-the-floor fit.
