Take a look at the rest of our selects below.
Cardi B, Kanye West, Lil Durk – “Hot Shit”
Tay Keith and Cardi B are a problem on her new single "Hot Shit." She regains her lyrical power for her latest, but she also enlists Kanye West and Lil Durk. The clip is conceptual. Also, there are plenty of green screens utilized. At one point, she's in control of fire blazing out of her arms, and in another shot, she's walking across a building. Lil Durk drops off a memorable verse as she stands on the top of a giant body and a sinking vintage car. Kanye also appears and he's masked up which is exciting and his verse is pretty strong. We rate the video a strong B+.
Latto – “P***Y”
Latto samples Betty Wright's "Girls Can't Do What Do What the Guys Do" for her racy and politically charged new song "P***Y." In these moments we're living through it's refreshing to see her stand up for women's rights in her own way. "My ovaries ain't for you to bully" hits hard given the abortion restrictions that recently hit the entire nation. DirectorSara Lacombeand Latto who also received a co-director credit presented a timely track and video that was necessary.
Rowdy Rebel, A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie, Jadakiss – “New York”
G Train Productions serves up a New York-themed video off of Rowdy Rebel's new album Rebel Vs. Rowdy. In "New York," the East Flatbush rapper and his counterparts A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie and Jadakiss maneuver through the streets and the train system to drive forward the director's vision of New York City. There are a few scenes that are highlights, for instance there's a scene that features a flashing green light with A Boogie that's unique and compelling. It feels good to hear and see Jadakiss in this one too.
Larry June – “Private Valet”
Larry June drops off the lush-sounding track "Private Valet." For the video, thematically the director sees him casually strolling through what looks like Europe. Additionally, he cooly appears on a rooftop and lights a joint as he shares the chorus of the laidback single.
Joey Bada$$ – Zipcodes
Joey Bada$$ has come a long way since he unveiled his first few records. Now, a staple in the New York rap game, Joey shares "Zipcodes" a track in which he brilliantly showcases how far his music has taken him. The clip takes him through the streets of Paris, New York, and beyond. The editing in this one is quite choppy and cut up with film clips, but that works, as stylistically we believe that was the goal.
