Take a look at the rest of our selects below.
Pharrell Williams, 21 Savage, Tyler, The Creator – “Cash In Cash Out”
For the animated "Cash In Cash Out" video, Electric Theater Collective creates an expansive universe. In a recent interview with Zane Lowe, Pharrell who produced the track shared that Tyler, The Creator had recorded his biting verse for the single ahead of his last critically acclaimed album. He added he felt 21 Savage and Tyler's verses were similar to "letting two pit bulls loose." The visual effects in the clip are robust and it's one of the most unique videos to arrive in 2022.
Benny The Butcher – “Welcome to the States”
Shot in black and white, Benny The Butcher's "Welcome to the States" urges viewers to not forget about the racially motivated shooting that took place in Buffalo last month at the hands of a white supremacist. Over Kendrick Lamar's track "We Cry Together" produced by Alchemist footage of President Joe Biden, protests, officers, and more are split up to drive a point home: the recent shooting deserves more eyes.
Nardo Wick – “Riot”
Nardo Wick who has had dreams of becoming a rapper since he was 14 is doing just that and more. For his latest video, "Riot," he appears to return to his Jacksonville roots. No features on this one, but it's clear that he is still in the studio perfecting his craft. Also, the visual is similar to a lot of clips rappers have been sharing over the past year: simply pulling up with a camera and capturing shots that appear to be natural.
Rubi Rose – “Wifey”
Rubi Rose has dropped off "Wifey" her latest single. Legit Looks and Rubi direct the clip where she showcases her fiery perspective on how naysayers don't affect her. Briana Shanee styles four looks for the clip which has a few racy moments (one being a car-washing scene). One thing is clear here, Rose is in control of her image.
Kidd Kenn – “Body”
You might recognize Kidd Kenn as the first out gay male rapper to appear in the 2021 BET Hip-Hop Award Cypher. He returns with "Body," an energetic single that encourages listeners to embrace their bodies whether they're augmented or not. One moment that's hilarious in the video is when a young girl alters the appearance of Ken Barbie dolls including Kidd Kenn.
Braxton Cook, Marquis Hill – “The Same”
Braxton Cook is prepping a new album, but for now, he has shared "The Same," a new track featuring Marquis Hill. The accompanying video includes Cook in his element in his Los Angeles home alongside his wife and also relaxing beachside. Intimate moments are plenty in the video which is edited with a vintage look throughout.
