Chris Rock, Lionel Richie, Pharrell x Missy Elliott & More Perform At The BET Awards 2014
An impressive roster of artists hit the stage in Los Angeles on Sunday night for the BET Awards including Lifetime Achievement Award recipient Lionel Richie, Pharrell, Missy Elliott, Jennifer Hudson, John Legend and Robin Thicke. The festivities kicked off with a killer show intro from host Chris Rock, whose awesome performance has already prompted a call for his return to the show in 2015. Lionel Richie was serenaded by Legend, Ledisi and Yolanda Adams, before he hit the stage to perform "Easy Like Sunday Morning" and his perennial party starter, "All Night Long." Pharrell took the crowd to #BaeUniversity with a bit of help from an army of baes and fellow VA titan Missy Elliott. Jennifer Hudson performed a medley of "Walk It Out" and "It's Your World." John Legend returned to perform his new single "You & I" and brought Jhene Aiko to the stage for a duet of her single "The Worst." Robin Thicke also made an appearance onstage to make another impassioned and very public musical plea for forgiveness from his wife Paula Patton. Though Jay and Bey were billed as performers for the night, fans instead got grainy footage of the couple performing "Partition" from a stop on their On The Run Tour. Other highlights included a certified throwback to 90's r&b with some familiar faces. Check the footage below to get a look at some of the best musical moments from last night's broadcast.
