Fans first noticed the possibility of a new album rollout when Knowles-Carter removed her profile picture on all of her social media pages last week. In an interview with Harper's Bazaar last year, the singer teased new music and the title of her seventh album.
“With all the isolation and injustice over the past year, I think we are all ready to escape, travel, love, and laugh again,” she told the magazine. “I feel a renaissance emerging, and I want to be part of nurturing that escape in any way possible.”
She also confirmed that a new album would be coming. “Still, there’s nothing like the amount of love, passion, and healing that I feel in the recording studio,” she added. “After 31 years, it feels just as exciting as it did when I was nine years old. Yes, the music is coming.”
On Wednesday (June 15), the singer's BEYGOOD outlet celebrated Black Music month with a collage of albums and artists including Lucky Daye, Jhene Aiko and Brandy's 2020 album B7 next to a picture of what fans have guessed is Beyoncé's hand.
Beyoncé last released curated album The Lion King: The Gift in 2019, followed by Disney+ music film Black Is King in 2020. The singer last performed "Be Alive" from 2021 film King Richard during the Oscars 2022, the song also being nominated for Best Original Song.
