Kendrick Lamar & Punch Go To Work On The Remix Of BJ The Chicago Kid's "It's True" feat. Schoolboy Q
In the aftermath of Kendrick Lamar's groundbreaking To Pimp A Butterfly release, the world's been left with an insatiable appetite for more gems from the King Of Compton. After both breaking Spotify with the album's record-setting stream-count and the internet at large with last week's unveiling of his verse on Kanye West's own "All Day," K Dot and TDE head-honcho Punch lend their talents to a remix of BJ The Chicago Kid's and Schoolboy Q's hard-hitting loosie "It's True." While not quite as fiery as his TPAB verbiage, Lamar paints a haunting image of his crapshoot Compton upbringing with Punch heating up the track with his clean-up slot on the cut. While there's now a bevy of new Kendrick on the market, this should provide a needed chaser for those of you still looking to come up for air. If you've yet to acquaint yourself with the soul-strutting ways of one BJ The Chicago Kid, I'd point you towards his impressive M.A.F.E Projectfor a crash course. Listen as TDE's heavyweights unite on a remix of BJ The Chicago Kid's "It's True" below and stay tuned for the next episode.
