Black Panther Becomes the First Superhero Movie to Be Nominated For a Best Picture Oscar
Kendrick Lamar and SZA also nabbed Oscar nominations.
The 2019 Oscar nominations were revealed on Tuesday, January 22nd. The big winner was the gigantic hit Black Panther, which was nominated for a Best Picture Oscar.
Black Panther is now the first superhero movie to ever be nominated for a Best Picture Oscar. (The Dark Knight was infamously snubbed for a Best Picture nomination 10 years ago.)
Black Panther is joined by Bohemian Rhapsody, Spike Lee's BlacKkKlansman, Vice, The Favourite, Green Book, A Star is Born, and Roma.
