The London-born artist (now living in New York) played a stripped-down four-song set that included songs from his latest album, Negro Swan, and 2014's Freetown Sound.
Accompanied by Eva Tolkin, Ian Isiah, Jason Arce, and Mikey Freedom Hart, Blood Orange starts off the set with "By Ourselves," which includes a standout spoken word performance by Ashlee Haze.
Haze offers a tale about how she discovered Missy Elliott as an eight-year-old, "fat black girl from Chicago" and how through her she learned "she could dance until she felt pretty" and "be a woman playing a man's game."
Blood Orange released Negro Swan last year. He'll be performing at this year's Governors Ball.
