Bun B & Childish Gambino Team Up For Sinister Cut "R.I.P"
UPDATE: Turns out, this gem was from Gambino's 2012 mixtape Royalty, and was merely repurposed for Crooks & Castles' Salewd tribute. Either way, it's always a good day for some heat from The Trill One.
Bun B took some time away from his busy academic schedule to lay down some new bars on the Childish Gambino produced and featured cut "R.I.P." And while the title could easily be misconstrued for a call to mic from the eternally trill one, it's actually a tributary, paying homage to Crooks & Castles' late marketing director Chris "Lewds" Natalio on the recently released Salewds compilation from the streetwear giant & Noisey. The track finds Bino splitting time as both MC and producer, putting the chop to Kavinsky's electro-ballad "Nightcall" for some tuff words from the unconventional duo. The Salewds compilation is available to stream and download for free over on Soundcloud, featuring appearances from the aforementioned as well as Curren$y, A$AP Twelvyy, Omarion, Dave East, Rick Ross, Lil Bibby, Lil Herb and a slew of others. But if you're just looking for a taste, we suggest you start with the compilation's lead-off, featuring Bun B & Childish Gambino. Stream "R.I.P" below and stay tuned for all things Trill OG and Bino related in the months to come.
