Stream Cam'ron's New Album 'Purple Haze 2' Featuring Max B, Wale & More
This is the Harlem rapper's first release in 15 years.
Cam’ron has unveiled his newest album Purple Haze 2, a follow-up to his iconic 2004 release Purple Haze.
Purple Haze 2 is his latest project to come from the Harlem rapper in 15 years. The album arrives with features from Wale, Jim Jones, and Max B. He has teased the release for the past five years and even previously shared that it would be his last album.
Staples tracks on the album include the intro “Toast To Me,” the single “I Don’t Know” with Wale, and “Straight Harlem” with Jim Jones and Shooter. “Keep Rising” with Max B features an expertly mixed sample of “All Night Long” by the ’80s girl group Mary Jane Girls.
In a previous interview with Complex, Cam’ron speaks on what led to the creation of the album, “A lot of times, I tell myself I’m not going to fuck with music no more, but then I end up fucking with music, even if it doesn't come out.” He also shared, “It’s the 15-year anniversary of Purple Haze this year. So I was like, damn, I have so many dope songs, and I’m still working—why not do a Part 2 around the anniversary of Part 1? People are always asking me for music, so I thought it was time to put some music back out.”
The new album will be supported by a Purple Haze 2 tour. It will kick off in Brooklyn, additional tour stops include Philadelphia, Toronto and more.
