Cam'Ron Says He was Supposed to Be in Uncut Gems Alongside Jonah Hill
Cam told the story on Instagram Sunday night.
Benny and Josh Safdie's Uncut Gems became somewhat of an instant classic in December 2019. On a $19 million budget, the film garnered $50 million at the box office. Notable celebrities like Kevin Garnett and The Weeknd play significant roles in the film.
On Sunday night, however, we learned that another musician was originally going to be a part of the film. Cam'Ron took to Instagram to repost a clip from an interview with noted Manhattan jeweler Izzy Avianne. Avianne designed the Star of David pinky ring and Rolex watch that Adam Sandler wears throughout the film.

In the clip, Avianne says it was Cam'ron who introduced him to Sandler and the Safdie brothers. "Like two, three hours later, they were ringing at my doorbell," Avianne said. "I didn't think it would happen that instantly."
According to Cam'Ron, the Safdies originally offered him a role in the film. "Thanks @izzyaviannes for keeping it 100," Cam wrote. "@booger_nose [Josh Safdie] used me to get to you and the family. Then tried to give me a sucker ass role. When they told me it was supposed to be me and @jonahhill starring in it with @adamsandler then didn't even give me a thank you in the credits."
