Cardi B Says She Will Lose Money By Performing At Coachella
Cardi B says she's spending $300,000 on production for her Coachella set, while she's only being paid $70,000 for her performance.
In a recent interview,Cardi B shared details on how she will be losing around $160, 000 by playing at Coachella this weekend.
During a sit-down with SiriusXM’s "Hip Hop Nation," the Bronx rapper says she admitted to not knowing Coachella was "such a big deal," before stating that she's investing her own money into her performance.
"I have to invest so much money on my stage set, my own money," she stated, revealing that she's paid $300,000 out of pocket for her stage set. Her Sunday set at Coachella is scheduled to last 35 minutes.
Cardi says will be paid $70,000 per weekend for her two performances. The relatively low price is largely due to having been booked months ago, before her current accelerated stardom with the release of her debut album, Invasion of Privacy— which is reportedly set to top the Billboard 200 next week.
